The City of Ames snow ordinance goes into effect at 10 p.m., Dec. 23. If your car is on a snow route, you'll need to move it to allow plows to clear the street. Snow routes are designated with red and white signs and generally are on CyRide routes. Vehicles may not be parked on snow routes until the street has been plowed curb to curb and it stops snowing. Vehicles left on the street during this time may be ticketed or towed. More about the snow ordinance.
