This is how it begins
Members of the 2011 Cyclone Football Varsity Marching Band began arriving on campus Saturday for their annual band camp, eight days of auditions, small group rehearsals and marching practices to launch their fall performing season. Portions of the week are spent on their practice field in the northwest corner of campus, near the ISU cemetery (pictured). Once classes begin, the band practices every weekday for 80 minutes under the guidance of associate director of bands Steven Smyth. Photo by Bob Elbert.
