One for the team: Veishea needs your parking spot

The parking lots north of the Molecular Biology, Communications and Metals Development buildings will be closed to permit holders Friday, April 16, to prepare the area for outdoor Veishea concerts Friday and Saturday nights. The lots -- 27 and 28 for employees, 29 for commuter students -- actually will close at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Drivers who normally park in those lots are asked to park in the commuter lots (A3, A4, B4, B5 and B6) in the southwest corner of the Iowa State Center and ride the free orange route shuttle to campus. A shuttle bus leaves the transit hub in the center parking lot every 20 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Employees who park in lot 12, on the west side of the Communications Building, will have to move their cars before the end of the workday Friday. Lot 12 will close for Veishea preparations at 4 p.m. Friday.

All four north campus lots will reopen at noon Sunday.
