Extension Week Proclamation
Extension Week activities include student scavenger hunts, free breakfast snack.
WHEREAS, Iowa State University, as Iowa's land-grant university, has a three-part mission of teaching, research and extension -- sharing the knowledge from the university with all the people throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, Iowa State University Extension is the outreach arm of the university and an integral part of our land-grant mission; and
WHEREAS, Iowa State prepares students to become civic-minded graduates who can address complex problems in society; and WHEREAS, ISU Extension is a valuable resource for the continuing education and civic development of Iowa State students and graduates; and
WHEREAS, building relationships between ISU Extension experts on campus and Iowa State students can enhance future partnerships and collaborations of Iowa State, our graduates, and the communities in which they live and work;
NOW THEREFORE, We, President Gregory Geoffroy and Provost Elizabeth Hoffman, do hereby proclaim March 21-25, 2011, as Extension Week at Iowa State University and encourage all students, faculty, and staff to participate in Extension Week activities and learn how ISU Extension benefits the people of this state.
