Work groups will tackle college combination questions
The Planning Committee on the Combination of the College of Education and
the College of Family and Consumer Sciences has appointed work groups to
help examine issues related to the proposed combination. Work group members
are listed on the planning committee's Web site:
http://www.provost.iastate.edu/educfcs.
Most of the work groups have two suggested report deadlines. The first date
for several groups (May 1) is the deadline to turn in a list of issues to
address and the information they'll need to do their work.
The work groups and their suggested deadlines are:
- College governance documents and policies, Sept. 15, Feb. 1, 2005.
- College name and mission, May 1, Sept. 1.
- Communications and planning
(ongoing responsibilities)
- Culture and community (ongoing responsibilities)
- Curricular issues, Sept. 15, Feb. 1, 2005.
- Deans' offices: organization and operation, May 1, Sept. 1.
- Extension and outreach, Sept. 15, Feb. 1, 2005.
- External funding, Sept. 15, Feb. 1, 2005.
- Scholarship, research and creative activity, Sept. 15, Feb. 1, 2005.
- Selection of dean of new college, Nov. 1.
- Space and equipment, May 1, Sept. 1.
- Student services, May 1, Sept. 1.
- Technology, May 1, Sept. 1.
