Task forces seeks input on policy
A task force appointed by President Gregory Geoffroy to improve information
security on campus has enhanced the ISU Code of Computer Ethics and
Acceptable Use Policy and developed new policies on information security and
reporting IT security incidents.
The task force seeks input from the university community on these policies
and asks policy reviewers to pay close attention particularly to the
computer ethics policy, which has broad impact on faculty, staff, students
and others who use information technology at Iowa State.
The policies can be viewed on the university counsel Web site at
http://www.iastate.edu/~ouc/rules_proposed.htm.
The Information Technology Security Task Force continues to work to improve
Iowa State's information technology security by evaluating current policies
and making recommendations.
More detailed policies will be developed soon on such topics as passwords,
wireless connections and remote access to the campus network.
