Malaysian Culture Night to benefit United Way
Malaysian students will showcase their home's music, dance, food and culture
during their annual Malaysian Culture Night on Sunday, Nov. 9.
As has been their tradition since the mid-80s, the students will give the
proceeds from the evening of entertainment to a local community
organization. This year, the funds will go to the United Way of Story
County.
Joining the evening festivities will be the Malaysian Ambassador to the
United States, H.E. Dato'Ghazzali S.A. Khalid.
Events will be held at the Memorial Union. A cultural display will available
in the lobby in front of the main desk from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 9:15 to
9:45 p.m. Cultural performances will be held in the Great Hall from 6:30 to
8:30 p.m. and samples of Malaysian food will be available in the Oak Room
from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for the public and $7 for students. There is no charge for
children under 12. Tickets may be purchased at a booth beside the West
Student Office Space in the Union from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 29-31 and Nov.
4-7.
