Honors
Honorary membership
Robert Wallace, associate professor of botany, was given honorary membership
in Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society by the 2002-2003
Mortar Board class. Honorary membership recognizes those who have made
notable contributions to society and whose influence has extended beyond the
university. Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college
seniors for outstanding achievement in scholarship, leadership and service.
Society fellow
James Baker, University Professor in agricultural and biosystems
engineering, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Agricultural
Engineers. Members with at least 20 years of engineering practice who have
made significant contributions to the field are eligible for the honor.
Recognized as a leader in agricultural water quality, Baker helped establish
policies that support the agricultural, environmental and economic
sustainability of U.S. agriculture.

New reviewer
Carol Meeks, director of the Center for Family Policy in the College of
Family and Consumer Sciences, has been appointed to a two-year term as a
reviewer of the Journal of Family & Consumer Sciences, the
leading scholarly, peer-reviewed journal in the field. The quarterly journal
is published by the non-profit American Association of Family & Consumer
Sciences.
