Couples sought for psychology study
Married or cohabiting couples are sought for a study that involves two
10-minute problem-solving discussions. Evening and weekend appointments may
be scheduled. Couples receive $60 for participating. Contact Joann Seeman,

University closed July 4
Iowa State University offices will be closed and classes will be in recess
Friday, July 4, to observe the national Independence Day holiday.
Geoffroy on Talk of Iowa July 15
President Gregory Geoffroy will be joined by Lee Alekel, associate professor
of food science and human nutrition, on the Tuesday, July 15, edition of
Talk of Iowa on WOI Radio. The live, call-in program airs at 10 a.m.
weekdays on WOI-AM (640).
MU director candidates visit campus
Three candidates for the director post at the Memorial Union visited campus
in late June. They are:
- Richard Reynolds, executive director for university center and
student leadership and cultural programs at the University of Texas, San
Antonio.
- Henry Morris, director of student development and director of the
Centennial Student Union at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
- Timothy Moore, director of Hughes-Trigg Student Center at Southern
Methodist University, Dallas.
Terry Mason, interim associate vice president for student affairs and
director of the student counseling service, has served as interim director
of the Memorial Union since May 1.
Iowa Shrine Bowl returning to campus
Jack Trice Stadium is the site for the annual Iowa Shrine All-Star football
game on Saturday, July 26. Eighty-eight select graduating high school
seniors and coaching staffs arrive at ISU July 17 for practices. Two cheer
squads of nominated students also participate at the Shrine game. Football
and cheer squads are featured in a parade in downtown Ames at 10:30 a.m.
July 26. Game kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10; proceeds benefit the
Shrine Hospital programs for children.
Farewell reception
A farewell reception for two College of Education employees, Susana Muoz,
student services, and Victor Udin, administration, will be held from 10 a.m.
to noon Tuesday, July 15, in N166 Lagomarcino.
Appointment
- Edward Yeung, distinguished professor of liberal arts and sciences
and professor of chemistry, to the Robert Allen Wright Chair, established
from the Robert Allen Wright Endowment for Excellence, which was created to
enhance the general excellence of ISU's academic programs.
