Dean Meeks takes new ISU position
Carol Meeks, who has been dean of the College of Family and Consumer
Sciences since August 1997, will leave that position June 30 to serve as
director of ISUs Center for Family Policy.
Dean Meeks dedication to the growth and development of the College of Family
and Consumer Sciences over the past six years is greatly appreciated, said
Ben Allen, vice president for academic affairs and provost.
Meeks said she is especially proud of the progress the college has made in
attracting research funding and the colleges sponsorship in 2000-2001 of the
year-long theme, Strengthening Families to Become the Best.
Meeks will begin her new position after a brief leave of absence. Allen said
he will appoint an interim dean and a national search for a permanent dean
will begin in the fall.
