Diversity discussions open Jan. 24
President Gregory Geoffroy will launch a series of campus conversations on
diversity issues Friday, Jan. 24. Faculty, staff and students are invited to
the President's Forum on Diversity, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Memorial
Union Sun Room.
Following remarks by Geoffroy, audience members will break into randomly
assigned small groups for discussion. Topics and questions generated in
those groups will be explored further in a series of spring semester events
called "Friday Conversations on Diversity."
A free lunch will be served in the Sun Room, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Participants who plan to attend the lunch are asked to register in advance
(see below.) Those attending just the forum don't need to register.
In his fall convocation talk, Geoffroy said that one of his priorities for
the year is to foster diversity on campus and ensure an inviting and
welcoming climate.
"I want to elevate the campus conversation around topics of diversity, to
keep it in the forefront of our thinking," Geoffroy said.
