Carter, Geoffroy on WOI
Steve Carter, director of the Research Park and Pappajohn Center, will join
President Gregory Geoffroy on WOI Radio's Talk of Iowa at 10 a.m.

Budget and planning committee seeks your ideas
The President's Advisory Committee on Budget and Planning seeks your ideas
and input on how ISU can increase its revenues, efficiency and
effectiveness. The campus community is encouraged to submit comments to
goodideas@iastate.edu.
Laptop thefts on campus
A number of laptop computers have been reported stolen from various campus
locations. Prevent laptop theft by remembering that no place is safe. Get in
the habit of securing your laptop by using a cable lock or a docking station
and remember to back up data. More information on preventing laptop theft is
available online at
http://www.labmice.net/articles/laptopsecurity.htm. Insurance coverage
for university laptop computers is available through the Office of Risk

Admission deadline Jan. 2
Undergraduate students who wish to enroll at Iowa State beginning spring
semester must ensure that all their application materials are received by
the Office of Admissions by 5 p.m. Jan. 2. This includes the application,
fee and transcripts. The admissions office also must receive the student's
acceptance of admission offer by 5 p.m. Jan. 9, 2003. Questions should be

25-Year Club banquet set
Those who have been employed by the university 25 or 35 years will be
honored during the annual 25-Year Club banquet. The banquet will be held
Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003 (5:30 p.m. social hour, 6:30 p.m. dinner), in the
Scheman Building. A pictorial view of Iowa State in 1967 and 1977 will be
presented. Organizers are looking for photos, news clippings or stories from
those years. Send items to the 25-Year Club, 88 Scheman, or e-mail to
ealicht@iastate.edu. A list of honorees is on the Retirement Office Web site
(http://www.iastate.edu/~retire_info). If you think your name should be
added to the list, contact the Retirement Office.
ISCORE set for March 7
The fourth annual Iowa State Conference on Race and Ethnicity will be held
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7, 2003, in the Memorial Union. Conference
materials (including registration, call for proposals and schedule) are
online.
