Madrigal Dinners in January

The department of music will present the 38th annual Madrigal Dinners Friday and Saturday, Jan. 17-18, 2003, in the Memorial Union Great Hall.

The Madrigal Dinners feature a candlelit 17th century banquet hall filled with the ambiance of a festive Renaissance English court. The banquet will be "attended" by dancers, jesters and musicians.

This year's production is co-sponsored by the Story County Pork Producers Association.

Both evenings' activities will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and dinner fanfare at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 for regular admission and $28 for Iowa State students, senior citizens and groups of 10 or more.

Tickets may be purchased by mail; send order to Madrigal Dinner Tickets, Music Building, Room 115, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011. Make checks payable to ISU Madrigal Dinner; credit cards and telephone orders won't be accepted.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 2, tickets may be purchased in person at the Memorial Union Box Office window, located on the first floor. The box office is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

TicketMaster locations in Ames (233-1888) and Des Moines (243-1888) also will have the Madrigal Dinner tickets on sale beginning Dec. 2. There will be a ticket handling fee at all off-campus TicketMaster outlets.
