Women's Week in October

Noted author Mary Pipher will present the keynote address for Women's Week
2002, scheduled for Oct. 3-16.
Pipher, a Lincoln, Neb., psychologist, is perhaps best known for her book,
Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls. Her lecture,
"Ophelia's Family: Women and Families in 2002," will begin at 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the Memorial Union Sun Room.
Other events include a panel discussion on Title IX; a speech on
cyber-stalking presented by online crime expert Jayne Hitchcock; a one-woman
play performed by Mexican actress Lara Gallardo about Frida Kahlo, a Mexican
artist and revolutionary; a candidate forum with Iowa Lt. Gov. Sally
Pederson and her opponent, Debi Durham; and a talk about the abortion issue.

Hitchcock, online crime and security expert and author.

- 7 p.m., Performance, The Life of Frida Kahlo: A One-Woman Show,
