Carillon festival premieres Star Bells

The campus will resonate with the sound of bells during the Iowa State Carillon Festival, Oct. 4-6.

A highlight of the festival will be the premiere of Star Bells, a commissioned work for carillon and orchestra by music professor Jeffrey Prater. The piece will be performed during a family concert beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, on central campus (rain location will be Tye Hall, Music Building). The concert also will spotlight various Iowa State music groups and student carillonneurs.

Iowa State's carillonneur, Tin-Shi Tam, will present a concert at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the campanile.

On Saturday, a tour of the campanile will begin at 4 p.m.
