Opening week comedian is Lewis Black
Comedian Lewis Black, a regular on Comedy Central, will bring his caustic
humor to Stephens Auditorium for a free performance at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug.
30.
Best known for his weekly spotlight, "Back in Black," on Comedy Central's
The Daily Show, Black has written more than 40 plays that have been
produced around the world.
Black has been a guest star on several television series, including
Homicide, Law and Order, The Murphy Brown Show and Mad About
You, and had a recurring role in The Days and Nights of Molly
Dodd. He also appeared in the films Hannah and Her Sisters, Jacob's
Ladder and The Night We Never Met.
A frequent guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Black is known for
his political and pop-culture humor. In 2001, he received the American
Comedy Award for "Viewers' Choice Stand-up Comic."
His campus appearance kicks off the ISU Lectures Program season.
