Dining service director candidates will visit this month

Three finalists for the position of director of campus dining services will
visit campus later this month.
The finalists are Richard Berlin III, director of the office of campus
dining at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge; Ronald Burke,
director of housing dining services and food stores at the University of
Nebraska, Lincoln; and Jonathan Lewis, executive director of student
auxiliary services (dining, housing, health center and campus ID card
services) at the University of Maine, Orono.
Lewis will visit campus Thursday-Friday, March 7-8, Berlin on
Thursday-Friday, March 21-22; and Burke on Monday-Tuesday, March 25-26.
Each candidate's visit will include a campus tour; meetings with food
service staff, catering clients, the search committee and various ISU
administrators; and a public forum. The public forum schedule follows:
- Lewis: 10:15-11:15 a.m., March 8, Pioneer Room, Memorial Union.
- Berlin: 10:15-11:15 a.m., March 22, Pioneer Room, Memorial Union.
- Burke: 4:15-5:15 p.m., March 25, Pioneer Room, Memorial Union.
The director will lead Iowa State's new campus dining services, a merged
unit of the dining and catering units of the residence department and
Memorial Union. The new unit will be overseen by the vice president for
student affairs.
