While a recent remodeling project has given the Joan Rice Underwood Tearoom
dining area a 1920s retro look, the kitchen area has been updated with
state-of-the-art appliances.
The remodeling project was funded by a $300,000 gift from alumni Roger and
Connie Underwood, Ames, in recognition of Roger Underwood's mother, a 1952
graduate in home economics.
The revamped kitchen now features new ovens, steamers, hot water dispenser
and a charbroiler. Many of the previous fixtures in the kitchen were 40to
50 years old.
Lunch is served from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. Reservations
are required; call 4-3330 or
