Health center named for Thielen
The Student Health Center will officially be named for Thomas B. Thielen,
vice president emeritus for student affairs, at a 10 a.m. ceremony Saturday,
Sept. 29, at the facility.
Speakers will include Thielen; president Gregory Geoffroy; Board of Regents,
State of Iowa, president Owen Newlin; health center director James Nelson;
and Brooke Johnson, student and president of the Health Center Student
Advisory Committee. Tom Hill, vice president for student affairs, will open
and close the ceremony. Refreshments and tours of the facility will be
available.
Thielen served as vice president for student affairs at Iowa State from 1977
to 1997.
