The Reiman Gardens raised $15,900 this summer through visitor donations.
Officials started soliciting donations May 10, said Teresa McLaughlin,

Voluntary donations are $3 for adults and $1 for children. About one in
three people visiting the gardens this summer donated some amount. An
admission fee was discussed earlier this year, but leaders decided to
solicit donations instead. ISU students and children 6 years and younger are
not asked to contribute.
