CyRide hybrid

CyRide will unveil its new fleet of 12 hybrid buses at an open house and dedication event on Saturday, July 31 (3 p.m., Ames Transit Agency, 1700 University Blvd.). The "Cybrid" fleet will run on biodiesel and electric hybrid engines, reducing noise, emissions and fuel consumption. An online survey determined the winning design for the look of the buses, which were purchased with a combination of local, state and federal dollars.
