State Fair time

ISU research and economic impact will be highlighted in this year's Iowa State Fair exhibit, located in the northeast corner of the Varied Industries Building. The fair runs Aug. 13-23.

A ninth building was added to the 230-acre ISU Research Park this spring. Interior construction will be determined by the needs of tenants, which will be technology-based start-ups affiliated with ISU research.

External funding at record high in FY09

Iowa State attracted a record high $305.2 million in grants, contracts, gifts and cooperative agreements during fiscal year 2009. That's an increase of $31.1 million over the previous year.

Getting a leg up

Former ISU track star and Olympic medalist Danny Harris held a youth sprints and hurdles camp in the Lied Center this week. He will host a one-day youth speed clinic Aug. 8.

Staff tuition program sees record year

The employee tuition reimbursement program distributed a record amount of funds last year. Beginning this summer, a three-credit maximum was implemented.
