Jonathan Wickert, who arrived on campus in the summer of 2007 as chair of the mechanical engineering department and the Larry and Pam Pithan Professor of Mechanical Engineering, became dean of the College of Engineering on July 1.

Previously, he was a faculty member for 17 years at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where he led his department's undergraduate program. His textbook, An Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, has been translated into the Korean, Chinese and Portuguese languages. Wickert is in 104 Marston, phone: 4-9988.
