Oct. 24, 2008 ReceptionsGloria Ladson-BillingsGloria Ladson-Billings, University of Wisconsin, Madison, renowned educator in culturally relevant pedagogy and critical race theory, is the 2008-09 College of Human Sciences Hilton Chair. A reception to honor her will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the Christian Petersen Art Museum in Morrill Hall. For more information, contact Lori Patton, 4-3364. Nancy HolcombA retirement reception for Nancy Holcomb, administrative specialist in the department of food science and human nutrition, will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in the Memorial Union Campanile Room. A brief program will begin at 2:30 p.m. Holcomb started at ISU May 1, 1970, as a secretary in animal science. On Feb. 21, 1980, she moved to food science and has remained in that department. |
