July 3, 2008 Search begins for director of sustainability programs
A national search is under way for Iowa State's first director of sustainability programs, and both faculty and P&S staff members are encouraged to apply. President Gregory Geoffroy announced last month he would create the position as part of the university's "Live Green!" energy efficiency and conservation initiative. The director's position is a full-time one in the department of facilities planning and management for a pilot period of three years, at which time the office and position will be reviewed. The director's duties include:

She said committee members would begin reviewing applications the first week in August, with the intent to conduct interviews in the second half of August and name a director by early to mid-September.
