Emerging artists

The 2008 Des Moines Arts Festival will have a distinct Iowa State flavor, as 15 of the event's 24 selected "Emerging Iowa Artists" are products of the College of Design. Twelve are students, three are alumni. Works by the up-and-comers will be featured during the festival, which runs June 27-29 in Des Moines' Western Gateway Park.

Admission is free. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. More information is available online:
