Feb. 29, 2008 CELT director search under wayNominations and applications are being accepted for director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT). The position also serves as co-director of learning communities. Only ISU tenured faculty will be considered. Current CELT director Corly Brooke, a professor in the department of human development and family studies, will return to full-time faculty duties July 1. "Serving CELT and Learning Communities for the past 10 years has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful for the progress that has been made in promoting learning at Iowa State," Brooke said. "I have had the distinct pleasure of working with many colleagues who are devoted to enhancing teaching and learning, and I look forward to continuing those friendships. I also look forward to returning to my passion of teaching and to the continued success of both CELT and Learning Communities." The search committee, chaired by Kay Palan, associate dean of business, includes: Doug Gruenewald, co-director of learning communities; Holly Bender, associate professor of veterinary pathology; Suzanne Hendrich, professor of food science and human nutrition; Allan Schmidt, assistant director of CELT for learning technologies; Kurt Earnest, residence life coordinator; and Brian Olechnowski, graduate student in ecology, evolution and organismal biology.
