Staff in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development held training sessions in October for employees involved in the administration of grants and contracts. Similar training sessions will be held periodically through the end of the calendar year. The new process for collecting IDC data will be initiated Jan. 1, 2008. 3. Working teams continue to refine details in the numerous recommendations on policies and processes. This part of the implementation is expected to be complete by the end of December. Changes already are occurring in processes as a result of approved recommendations. Recommendations currently open for review and comment by the university community are online. 4. The current fiscal year (FY08) is the simulation year for the model. In October, the university's FY08 budget was restated in an offline simulation using the new policies and practices of the Resource Management Model. The central budget team is creating budgeted-to-actual reports for the first quarter of FY08. Deans, vice presidents and their fiscal officers will receive their reports by mid-month. |
