Hairspray

Big hair, big sound

The musical comedy Hairspray makes a stop in Ames Tuesday, Oct. 30. Show time is 7:30 p.m. at Stephens. Tickets, $42.50 or $46.50, are available through Ticketmaster. Hairspray won eight Tony Awards in 2003, including Best Musical. It started as a John Waters film in 1988, made the leap to Broadway production in 2002, and was adapted again this year as a film.
