Announcements

University diversity committee named

Membership on the Advisory Committee for Diversity Program Planning and Coordination has been set. This committee succeeds the President's Advisory Committee on Diversity and is chaired by the associate provost for faculty advancement and diversity. The group meets monthly. Geoffroy, Schwennsen, Morton on radio

President Gregory Geoffroy will be joined by College of Design associate dean Kate Schwennsen and university architect Dean Morton on the May 30 edition of Talk of Iowa on WOI Radio. The discussion will focus on sustainable or "green" building design. Talk of Iowa airs from 11 a.m. to noon on AM 640.

Dispose of non-paper media

Dispose of confidential, non-paper media at no cost in a locked container May 16-Aug. 7 (General Services Building dock). Acceptable media include diskettes, CDs, DVDs, super and zip disks, tapes (various), 9-track reels and fiche. Call Kelly McCool, FP&M, 4-1396, to arrange a time for batch disposal. Alumni Days are May 16-19

More than 350 alumni are expected back on campus for Alumni Days May 16-19. Due to renovations at the MU, Alumni Days will be based at the Knapp-Storms Dining Complex, but many tours and daytime activities will be on central campus and a shuttle service will connect the two. The youngest guests graduated 50 years ago (Class of 1957), the oldest 75 years ago (Class of 1932).

Eating for healthy aging

An employee lunch and learn, "Eating for Healthy Aging," will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, in 0331 Palmer. Reserve a spot by calling 4-9625 or e-mailing barclay@iastate.edu. Bring your lunch, if you like.

Colony collapse disorder to be addressed at ISU symposium

A session on bee Colony Collapse Disorder has been added to the 9th annual Pollination Symposium on Plant-Pollinator Relationships June 24-28 in the Scheman Building. The CCD session is from 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27. Registration for Wednesday only is $175; or $650 for the entire conference. More information is online.

The ISU Retirees Association will host its annual Memorial Day service at 9 a.m. Monday, May 28, in the Molecular Biology Building atrium.
