March 30, 2007 Spend an evening with Terry GrossIf you want to put a face to a voice that you likely know from public radio, here's your chance. On April 9, at 8 p.m., Terry Gross, longtime host of NPR's Fresh Air, will speak at Stephens Auditorium. The event is free. When Gross began hosting and producing Fresh Air in 1975, it was a local program for WHYY in Philadelphia. In 1987, NPR started distributing Fresh Air. Now, the Peabody award-winning show is one of the most listened to NPR programs, played on 450 public radio stations with millions of listeners. Gross will give insight to her interviewing techniques by playing excerpts from interviews that went extremely well and some that went badly. She'll also talk about her own life and career and take questions from the audience. |
