March 30, 2007 Creating e-mail class list is easy, usefulby Diana Pounds Once in a while, even the instructor can't make it to class. The culprit could be the flu, a road buried in snow, a delayed flight, or something else. Fortunately, Iowa State instructors have a quick, easy way to create e-mail class lists. These lists allow instructors to instantly send all kinds of messages, including the occasional cancellation, to their students. It only takes about five minutes to set up an e-mail class list. However, the list doesn't work until the following day, so it's wise to create the list early in the semester, before it's needed. Here's how to create a class list. (If you have questions or need assistance, contact the Solution Center at 4-4000.)
The list, which will be named something like "s2007.engl.333," will be ready for use the next day. Using the example above, the instructor would send mail to s2007.engl.333@iastate.edu to reach everyone in the class. |
