Aug. 25, 2006 HonorsSwitzer Award recipientLorraine Hoffman, interim director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, received the 2006 William P. Switzer Award in Veterinary Medicine, awarded by the College of Veterinary Medicine. Since 1998, the award has recognized individuals who make significant contributions to society or the enhancement of the college. National board memberDiane Birt, Distinguished professor of food science and human nutrition, has been appointed to the Food and Nutrition Board, a unit of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies of Sciences. She will serve a three-year term on the 15-member board. Achievement of ExcellenceISU's purchasing department earned the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award from the National Purchasing Institute for the second consecutive year. Award criteria include innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership attributes of the procurement organization. |
