Quote"So, they finally gave us a radio. Early in the morning of June 9, 1991, I'm listening to this little radio, on the Voice of America, and what do I hear? Bong, bong, bong, bong . . . The announcer said, 'I'm standing on the campus of Iowa State University, where they are ringing the bells of Iowa State 72 times, once for each month that Tom Sutherland has been held hostage.' I was absolutely blown away. Hearing those bells was just something I can't quite explain. It lightened my spirits, it kept me going."
