April 28, 2006 Volunteers still sought for July gamesThere's still time to get involved with the inaugural Special Olympics USA National Games. If you plan to volunteer, sign up sooner rather than later, says Liz Kurt, coordinator of the games. "Because of the magnitude of this event, we want people on board early so we can make proper assignments, begin training and ensure all volunteers are credentialed," Kurt said. About 8,000 volunteers are needed July 1-8. With permission, faculty and P&S staff can volunteer to help during the work day without charging hours to their leave time. The only way to sign up to volunteer is online at http://www.2006nationalgames.org. |
