Think pinkISU Police has hatched a new spring campaign that promotes safety, civility and self-governance. The campaign, featuring a bright pink flamingo named Frank, communicates the rules for celebrating responsibly, and reinforces the message with fun giveaways. The creative brain behind the idea is ISU Police Sgt. Liz Gries (pictured), community outreach coordinator, who says students are drawn to the whimsy of it all. Look for a Flamingo Patrol car driving around Ames this spring. Ames Police are joining with ISU Police in this "one community" effort. Photo by Bob Elbert. |
