Jan. 27, 2006 Post office signs five-year lease in MU spaceby Dan Kuester The Memorial Union has signed a five-year lease with the U.S. Postal Service for the space it currently occupies in the Union. The agreement allows the postal service to provide a permanent employee to the location. Since the last permanent Union postal employee retired, the Union has been serviced day-to-day by postal service staff in a rotation. "We're truly delighted to have an experienced postal service employee assigned to the Union regularly," said Kathy Svec, Memorial Union marketing coordinator. Hours at the Memorial Union postal window will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Stamps will remain available 24 hours a day in vending machines next to the postal window. The phone number is 296-0143. A space next to the postal counter also has been remodeled and P.O. boxes have been installed, making them more visible and accessible. |
