Jan. 27, 2006 HonorsBest recycling programIowa State University, led by the ISU Recycling Committee, received the 2005 "Best School Recycling Program" Award from the Iowa Recycling Association. The award recognizes the university's broad recycling program, including white office paper (275 tons annually), newspaper, corrugated cardboard, phonebooks, pallets, yard waste, ash, toner cartridges, tires, chemical glass bottles, pop cans, yard waste and others. Agronomy faculty honoredAgronomy faculty honored at the recent international annual meetings of the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America and Soil Science Society of America included Alfred Blackmer (W.L. Nelson Award for Diagnosis of Yield-Limiting Factors), Antonio Mallarino (named a fellow of ASA), Russ Mullen (Crop Science Teaching Award) and Mary Wiedenhoeft (Agronomic Resident Education Award). |
