October 7, 2005 HonorsGlobal Korea AwardYoung Kihl, professor of political science, received the 2005 Global Korea Award from Michigan State's Council on Korean Studies. He was honored for "significant contribution to improving understanding between Korea and the rest of the world, and devotion to quality education for the next generation." LAS Master TeachersThe College of Liberal Arts and Sciences has named five Master Teachers for 2005-06. They are Doug Bonett, professor of psychology and statistics, and interim chair of the department of psychology; Carol Chapelle, professor of English; Philip Dixon, professor of statistics; Mark Gordon, Distinguished professor of chemistry; and Jonathan Wendel, professor and chair of the department of ecology, evolution and organismal biology. This year's master teachers have been successful in teaching graduate-level courses and supportive of their students beyond graduation. |
