September 23, 2005 HonorsChief judgeChris Ahoy, associate vice president for facilities, was appointed the chief judge for the American Council of Engineering Companies. He leads a panel to evaluate engineering projects for ACEC awards. Service awardMarcia Prior-Miller, associate professor of journalism and Meredith Apprenticeship Professor, was recognized by Kappa Tau Alpha for her service to the national honor society for college students majoring in journalism and mass communication. Prior-Miller founded the Iowa State chapter of KTA in 1986 and has served as adviser since then. Distinguished researchJoseph Sebranek, University professor of animal science and food science and human nutrition, has received the Distinguished Research Award from the American Meat Science Association. His research has focused on problems related to processing meats, including curing, cryogenic freezing, packaging systems and irradiation applications. |
