Society fellowAtul Kelkar, professor of mechanical engineering, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers International. The honor recognizes members who have at least 10 years of active engineering practice and have made significant contributions to the field. Society fellowRamesh Kanwar, professor and chair of the agricultural and biosystems engineering department, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. He was honored for his work in soil and water engineering as a researcher, teacher, administrator and developer of water management programs worldwide. ASAE has 9,000 members in more than 100 countries. Society fellowX.B. Yang, professor of plant pathology, has been named a fellow of the American Phytopathological Society. The award recognizes members of the 5,000-member society for outstanding contributions to plant pathology or the society in research, teaching, administration, public service or outreach. Yang was honored for his studies on plant disease risk-assessment, the impact of climatic changes on plant health and the effects of El Nino on plant health. |
