July 1, 2005 HonorsSports medicine staff honoredAssociate director of athletic training Denise Harklau and director of Cyclone Sports Medicine and physical therapy Jim Nespor have received the Athletic Trainer Service Award from the National Athletic Trainers Association. The award is given to individuals who, through volunteer efforts, have made a significant impact on the athletic training profession. Thiel to receive honorary degreePatricia Thiel, Distinguished Professor of Liberal Arts and Sciences and professor of chemistry, this fall will receive an honorary Ph.D. degree from the Institute National Polytechnique de Lorraine in Nancy, France. Hall of Fame Award to SchwabCharles Schwab, associate professor of agricultural and biosystems engineering, received a Hall of Fame award from Iowa's Center for Agricultural Safety and Health. The extension safety specialist has been a leader in farm safety and health education throughout Iowa for many years. |
