September 24, 2004 Courtyard Café opens Sept. 27ISU Dining's newest outlet, the Courtyard Café, opens Monday, Sept. 27, in W182 Lagomarcino (just west of the north courtyard arches). It joins cafes in the Design center, Memorial Union, Vet Med complex, Reiman Gardens and Gerdin building. A grand opening begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, in conjunction with the dedication of the "Enlightenment" terra cotta mural in the Lagomarcino courtyard. The Courtyard Café will serve from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The menu includes organic, fair trade coffees, espresso and specialty coffee drinks; pastries, bagels and muffins; smoothies; blended frappaccinos; desserts; fresh fruit; homemade soups; bottled beverages and fountain soda. Staff will prepare made-to-order deli sandwiches and entrée salads. The café has some seating, including tables and chairs and soft seating. Seasonal patio seating in the Lagomarcino courtyard also is available. Accepted forms of payment include cash, ISU Dining Dollars, Cy Cash and personal checks. The café soon will accept credit cards as well. The phone number at the café is 4-9797. |
