September 10, 2004 Alumni's kids to visit campusby Anne Krapfl High school juniors and seniors -- who also happen to be children of ISU alumni -- will be the focus next week of Legacy Migration, a student-recruitment effort of the ISU Alumni Association and admissions office. An estimated 70 prospective students, accompanied by another 100 alumni parents, will visit campus Sept. 17. They'll ask questions of a student panel, check out several residence halls, tour campus and learn a little about the enrollment process. Many of their sessions will be at the Memorial Union. Past Legacy Migration days have targeted ninth- and 10th-graders as they begin to think about college selection, said alumni officer Julie Larson. The intent this year is to focus on upper-level high school students for whom a college choice is more immediate. Most of the prospective students are visiting from Iowa or Minnesota, although at least one will come from as far away as Virginia. |
