August 12, 2004 DeathsHerbert HowellHerbert Howell, emeritus professor in ag economics and a faculty member from 1935 to 1974, died July 24 in Ames. Memorials may be sent to Youth and Shelter Services in Ames or the Morrill Hall renovation project through the ISU Foundation. Among Howell's survivors is his son, Stephen Howell, director of the Plant Sciences Institute. Gerald SmallFuneral services for Gerald Small, Distinguished Professor of chemistry, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, from St. Cecilia Church, Ames. Small, 63, died Aug. 7. The family requests memorials for cancer research in lieu of flowers. Memorials also can be given to fund a scholarship or seminar series at Iowa State. Complete story. |
