Season at Stephens tickets on sale now

Give your regards to Broadway ... and ballet ... and baritones by attending
performances recently announced for the 2001-02 Season at Stephens
Performing Arts Series.
Broadway productions will take center stage several times in this 33rd
season, including Rent (Oct. 9-11), My Fair Lady (Nov. 2),
Ragtime (Jan. 13), Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (Jan. 31) and
Copenhagen (April 2). The stage adaptation of the Academy
Award-winning The Sunshine Boys (Feb. 15) will feature veteran TV
actors Dick Van Patten and Frank Gorshin. Opera buffs will enjoy the London
City Opera in The Merry Widow (March 8).
Some of the selections for concert aficionados include: Marvin Hamlisch
with the ISU Big Band (Sept. 28), Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with
Wynton Marsalis (Oct. 5), and Cyrus Chestnut and Friends in
A Charlie Brown Christmas (Dec. 1). The lineup also includes two Ames
International Orchestra Festival events: the Philadelphia Orchestra (Oct. 4)
and I Musici de Montréal (March 1).
Dance your thing? Check out the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company
(Oct. 12), Compañía Española de Antonio Márquez
(Feb. 7) Grigorovich Ballet Company in Spartacus (Feb. 17) and the
Trinity Irish Dance Company (April 12).
Family entertainment is abundant this season, notably The Kennedy Center's
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (Oct. 27), Goodnight Opus (Nov.
30), Momix in Orbit (Feb. 23) and DO JUMP! (April
6).
