Plant Sciences Institute launches grants program
The Plant Sciences Institute has established a competitive grants program
to promote research excellence at Iowa State. The program is open to all
faculty, P&S researchers at the P17 level or above, and post-doctoral
research fellows. Funding will be granted only for new research, not to
continue existing projects. Successful proposals will demonstrate:
- Excellent science relevant to the missions of the Plant Sciences
Institute or its centers.
- A high probability of future funding at the federal level.
- A benefit to multiple research programs at Iowa State.
- A high potential to foster long-term collaborations among investigators
on projects relevant to the missions of the institute or its centers.
Funding per project is limited to $30,000 a year for two years. The total
funding available in FY02 year is $120,000. Proposals are due Friday, March
23. More information is available from Deanne Brill, dbrill@iastate.edu, or 4-5255; or
