P&S Council eyes same-sex policy
Professional and Scientific Council representatives are seeking input to a proposal to treat same-sex domestic partners the same as married or common-law spouses when they seek insurance benefits through Iowa State. (See story for details of policy.) The compensation and benefits committee introduced the proposal at the Oct. 2 council meeting.
Council members will vote on the proposal at the Nov. 2 meeting.
In other business:
- Summaries of noon forums will be posted on the council's Web site the next day.
- The November noon forum in the Memorial Union Pioneer Room will feature discussion on proposed changes in the ISU Plan health insurance options. University Benefits Committee chair Mark Power will attend.
