ISU Theatre season has Mass Appeal

ISU Theatre will present four fall productions, including an encore performance of Mass Appeal, first performed in June on campus.In Mass Appeal, a priest meets a young seminarian and the two immediately are drawn into conflict over faith and religion. Both struggle in their own way to come to terms with these issues and each other. Their confrontations are thought-provoking, funny and touching as they examine the nature of friendship, courage and spiritual strength. It will be presented Aug. 25-27.

All performances will be held in Fisher Theater. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Iowa State Center Ticket office, Ticketmaster locations or by calling 233-1888.
- The Fantasticks,one of the most-produced musicals of all time. It's the usual story of boy meets girl but with a twist. The parents of each are delighted, but know if they tell their children, the boy and girl will rebel and turn away from each other. Sept. 22-24 and Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
- I've Got Something to Say II features the work of some of Iowa State's best young playwrights for this second annual event. Scripts are chosen from university-wide submissions and include the work of Dan Heck, Michael Dahlstrom, Andrew Nease and a movement-theater piece by Megan More and Lorainna Williams. Oct. 12-15.
- Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies, deals with loss and love. A pair of twins is separated during a shipwreck. Viola is rescued, but fears her brother has drowned. She disguises herself as a man until she can decide how to provide for herself. Nov. 10-12 and Dec. 1-3.
