Siegel heading to Illinois; Lewis named interim AIT head
Dorothy Lewis, associate director of academic information technologies, will become interim director of academic information technologies in early August.
She will succeed director Peter Siegel, who is leaving Iowa State to become the chief information officer for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Lewis has been in academic information technologies at Iowa State for 23 years and has directed AIT's public services units since 1993.
"Information technology and the academic aspects of it are a very high priority at Iowa State," said Provost Rollin Richmond. "Dorothy Lewis will provide the kind of experience we need as we transition to new leadership in this vital and rapidly changing area."
An announcement on the search process for a permanent director is pending, Richmond said.
